Yes. Unique Store Tag and Title LLC is a licensed and authorized tag and title service provider approved by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA). We are 100% Licensed and Bonded through the MVA. 

We process the same transactions the MVA does, but through a licensed private service that allows customers to avoid long lines and delays.

Many customers and dealerships choose authorized tag and title services for faster processing and convenience of not missing work to be at the MVA for hours. We can do those same transactions in minutes.


Yes. Authorized tag and title services operate under approval from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA). We follow all state regulations and submit transactions directly through the state system.

Dealerships, lenders, and private vehicle buyers regularly use licensed tag and title services because the process is faster and easier than visiting the MVA.


All state fees are exactly the same everywhere, including at the MVA.

As a licensed private service provider, we charge a service fee for processing your transaction quickly and conveniently, allowing customers to avoid long wait times and paperwork.

Most transactions take 5 minutes or less once all required documents are provided.

Yes. In most cases license plates and registration stickers are issued immediately at our office, so you can leave with your tags the same day.


Depending on your transaction, you may need:

  • Vehicle title

  • Proof of insurance
  • Bill of sale
  • Lienholder information (if the vehicle is financed)

  • county or state citations

Salvage title processing may require additional review by the state.

  • Salvage titles (before a rebuilt title is issued) may take 24–72 hours depending on state processing requirements.
  • Most rebuilt titles can be processed immediately once the vehicle has passed the required Maryland inspection.

In most cases, yes.

If you purchased a vehicle from another individual or from a dealership, the vehicle must usually pass a Maryland Safety Inspection before it can be registered and issued Maryland tags. 

The inspection must be completed at a licensed Maryland inspection station and a valid Maryland Safety Inspection Certificate must be presented before tags can be issued.


A Maryland Safety Inspection is a one-time inspection required when a vehicle changes ownership.

The inspection checks important safety components such as:

  • brakes
  • tires
  • suspension
  • steering
  • lights
  • frame condition
  • other safety equipment

Once a vehicle passes inspection, the inspection certificate is typically valid for 90 days.


Sometimes.

If a vehicle is gifted between certain immediate family members, the Maryland Safety Inspection requirement may be waived in certain situations.

This typically applies when the vehicle is transferred between:

  • spouse
  • parent
  • child

If the vehicle already has a valid Maryland title and meets the requirements, an inspection may not be required for the transfer. 

Other family relationships may still require an inspection depending on the situation.


Maryland allows vehicle gifts between certain family members when no money is exchanged.

Examples of qualifying relationships may include:

  • spouse
  • mother or father
  • son or daughter
  • step-parent or step-child
  • grandparents
  • grandchildren
  • siblings

Additional documentation may be required to prove the family relationship when transferring the title.


Maryland requires many vehicles to pass an emissions test through the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) to confirm the vehicle meets environmental standards. 

Emissions tests are typically required every two years for eligible vehicles.

Testing is completed at official Maryland VEIP stations or kiosks.
